Terms and Conditions

SafeSteps AI helps you learn to use AI and the internet with more confidence. These terms explain how to use the platform responsibly, look after your account, and take part respectfully.

Learning with SafeSteps

SafeSteps provides educational courses, examples, and assessments about AI and online safety. The information supports your learning; it does not replace advice from a qualified professional about your own financial, legal, medical, or security situation.

Completing a course does not guarantee that you will avoid every online risk. Take time to check unfamiliar messages and requests, and seek appropriate help when you are unsure.

Your account

Use accurate information when creating your account and an email address you can access. Keep your password private, and do not share your account or use someone else's account. Sign out when using a shared device.

If you cannot sign in, use the password-reset option on the sign-in page. If you believe someone else has accessed your account, contact the SafeSteps team for help.

Using SafeSteps responsibly

When using SafeSteps, please:

  • Use the platform lawfully and respect other people's rights.
  • Do not impersonate another person, send scams or spam, or share harmful links or software.
  • Do not try to access another person's records, bypass access controls, alter learning results, or disrupt the service.
  • Keep passwords, payment details, and other sensitive information out of discussions and shared learning examples.

Learning content and progress

You can read and use the learning materials for your own learning. Respect copyright and any permissions stated with a resource. Do not present someone else's material as your own.

Your account saves learning activity and assessment results. Courses may require earlier learning to be completed before you continue. Changes to published learning content can mean that earlier results no longer count toward the current version of a learning pathway.

Respectful discussions

Where discussions are available, keep contributions relevant, considerate, and suitable for a shared learning space. Do not post harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, or another person's private information. Only share material you have permission to share.

You can report a contribution that causes concern. Moderators can hide posts or lock discussions to protect the learning space. Other learners' contributions are their own views and may contain mistakes; check information before acting on it.

External services and content

SafeSteps uses external services for account access and website delivery. Some learning resources include links, images, or videos provided by other organisations. Their own terms and privacy practices apply when you use their services.

External content and services can change or become unavailable. Check the destination before entering personal information, and use the same care you would on any other website.

Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how account and learning information is used. Analytics are optional: declining them does not prevent you from learning with SafeSteps.

Service availability and account access

SafeSteps may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, or interruptions to external services. If something does not load or save, read the on-screen message and try again when the service is available.

Protected learning features require an active account. Access may be restricted when an account is suspended or deactivated. If you think your access has been restricted in error, contact the SafeSteps team.

Updates and questions

We may update these terms as SafeSteps changes. The date above shows when this page was last updated. You can return to this page to read the current terms.
